From Prisoner to Loved: Help Laila Heal

This is one of the hardest stories I’ve ever had to share.

Laila is a 9-year-old German Shepherd.

For more than 8 long years, she lived isolated on a terrace - scorching under the summer sun, drenched by heavy rains, shivering through cold nights.

No bed to sleep on.
No gentle hand to comfort her.
No walks, no companionship - just filth and loneliness.

She had done nothing wrong. Yet Laila was forced to live like a prisoner, locked away on that terrace, as if her life had no meaning.

By the time we found her, the neglect had taken a devastating toll. Her body was covered in open wounds, many filled with pus and crawling with maggots.

But Laila is resilient.

Today, she is safe at our shelter. For the first time, she has a bed, proper medical care, and people who cherish her as family. She is finally learning what love feels like.
